OVERVIEW

The Certificate in Ministry (CM) provides a theological foundation and practical ministry skills for leaders without university qualifications. It also suits students wanting to deepen their knowledge of Scripture and Christian beliefs. The program combines biblical understanding with practical ministry to advance personal growth, critical thinking, and community engagement.

Full-time: One year

Part-time: Up to three years

Admission Requirements

The applicant should fulfil the following requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years old on the date of admission with a minimum of 10 years of formal schooling*

  • Possess personal and spiritual maturity

  • Be water baptized and involved in Christian ministry

  • Recommended by his or her local church pastor

 

* Applicants without formal schooling can apply if they are at least 25 years old. They will be required to take a qualifying assessment.

International applicants must provide evidence of English language proficiency if their previous school's medium of instruction was not in English. This can be demonstrated through a TOEFL score of 80 (IBT) or 550 (PBT), an IELTS score of 6.0 or higher, or an equivalent qualification. Certificates must have been issued within the past 2 years.

Program Aims

Upon successful completion of the program, students should demonstrate:

  • A comprehensive understanding of Scripture and Christian doctrine

  • Ability to interpret and apply Scripture to practical life situations with critical thinking skills

  • A deep understanding of the nature of the church, its ministry and mission

  • A strong desire to participate in the ministry of the local church and make a positive impact in the community

Notes:

1) Fees are payable each term based on the number of credits taken for the term. 

2) Fees quoted above are estimated based on 2024 rates and inclusive of 9% GST. Fees are revised annually.

4) International students will need to take into consideration living expenses and other related fees incurred from staying in Singapore on a student pass.

APPLICATION

The School of Theology follows a trimester system with 3 terms in a year. Each term consists of 13 weeks. Students should check with the school for the exact dates for the school terms.

  • Term 1: Jan - Mar

  • Term 2: May - Jul

  • Term 3: Sep - Nov

 

Applicant may choose to commence the program in any term.
